The Transforming Power of Suffering Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
The Transforming Power of Suffering - Essay Example à At the time that this sonnet is composed, Milton is probably the best essayist of England, and this loathsome condition called visual impairment is going to end his profession, consequently rendering him pointless, much like the ability in the Bible which the third man covers and in the long run turns into the purpose behind God to rebuff him (Matt. 25:26-30, The New International Version). For the artist, it appears that being visually impaired is being futile, and being pointless is equivalent to setting oneself up to get rebuffed. This is the genuine reason for Miltonââ¬â¢s enduring as he is composing this sonnet. ... H. Lawrenceââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"The Blind Man.â⬠In the story, Maurice furtively battles with his visual deficiency by keeping himself occupied with every day errands on the homestead: ââ¬Å"He drained the dairy animals, conveyed in the buckets [and] took care of the pigs and horsesâ⬠(Lawrence). These are really a couple of things that an ordinary visually impaired man can never get himself to do. By and by, Maurice is by all accounts driving himself to carry out these responsibilities. Why? The explanation is one that he uncovers to Bertie close to the finish of the story: ââ¬Å"What I am apprehensive ofâ⬠¦is that [my spouse Isabel will] discover me a dead weight [and that] I feel it isnââ¬â¢t reasonable sheââ¬â¢s burdened with meâ⬠(Lawrence). Maurice, along these lines, much the same as the writer Milton, feels a similar sort of enduring especially in light of their dread of being pointless. By the by, what Jernigan states â⬠that ââ¬Å"the daze will in general observe [themselves] as others see [them]â⬠(4) â⬠is by one way or another valid as most visually impaired individuals will in general endure just until they understand that enduring presents to them the blessings of lowliness, empathy, and expectation. The excellence of lowliness is obvious in the accompanying lines of Miltonââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"On His Blindnessâ⬠: ââ¬Å"â⬠¦though my spirit increasingly bowed/To serve therewith my Maker, and present My actual record, in case He returning chideâ⬠(Milton 4-6). In these lines of the sonnet, the writer himself concedes that in spite of the fact that he is prepared to serve God, he must choose the option to unassumingly concede his ââ¬Å"true accountâ⬠â⬠his genuine conditions or the way that he is visually impaired and that he can't take care of business. In reality, quietude is tied in with summoning enough fearlessness to concede the genuine situation and simultaneously conceding oneââ¬â¢s w eakness even with it.â

Importance of Technology for an English Class Essay
I am a genuine devotee that innovation has become some portion of our day by day life, particularly with regards to showing a Lingua Franca simply like the English Language. It is an instrument that we as educators can't keep disconnected; it is there to contribute in the instructing and learning process. In any case, when looking at showing English completely on the web, it might have its points of interest just as its inconveniences. Initially, I might want to feature a portion of the preferences understudies and educators may experience or face when managing this sort of gadget. For instance, frequently understudies work full or low maintenance occupations while heading off to college so their time is important. So these understudies settle on certain choices in picking classes online in light of the fact that these classes give adaptability, so this is helpful for understudies when not having enough time . What's more, an understudy can for the most part take the course whenever during the day or week. They can likewise take the class dependent on their calendars. Numerous understudies deal with their course during the center of the night or promptly in the first part of the day. The adaptability of the course makes it feasible for an individual to finish the course, while going to school courses face to face may be incomprehensible because of their work routines. Another extraordinary preferred position of English online courses is that practically any sort of abilities can be discovered on the web. Separation taking in courses are regularly accessible from various schools. An individual can essentially utilize the Google to discover a class. Moreover, numerous understudies appreciate classes on line since they abstain from confronting the educator and don't hesitate to pose inquiries and find solutions back very quickly Online courses are advantageous for most undergrad and graduate understudies who can examine when they need and they can complete the process of composing or looking into assignments dependent on their very own timetables. Th e truth of the matter is as I referenced above online courses offer adaptability and accommodation that are regularly indispensable to understudies who work and have families. Second, educators showing English online have the incredible preferred position of utilizing supportive instruments by simply tapping on , devices that may assist us with keeping understudies intrigued, propelled and anxious to learn. On line educators approach such a significant number of things that occasionally are not found in a customary study hall. As a rule, online keep away from dreariness and nature is totally extraordinary to what we see each and every day. I have heard numerous encounters from educators and understudies about training on the web and some of them are acceptable, only a couple of special cases . As I referenced toward the start, encouraging on the web additionally has its negative side, for instance the absence of management, the expense of online courses, which are frequently costly. Another hindrance of online courses is the finished absence of management. In the event that an individual isn't persuaded to complete what they start, at that point it is most likely not a smart thought to take an online course. While there might be cutoff times and desires from the online course educator, there is nobody there to remind him/her to do the assignments or to step through the exams. Moreover, an understudy or educator who doesn't have PC or web aptitudes can't hope to do well with an online course. An understudy or instructor taking or giving an online course should approach a PC. These are two necessities that should be considered before taking an online course. An enormous disservice in taking on the web courses is whether they are acknowledged by different schools. It is critical to look at whether the course will be acknowledged by others? Who really offers the course? Does a school offer this course? Another significant weakness of taking an online course is found in understudies who tend to delay. Do they tarry with regards to finishing their composing assignments? Do they finish their objectives? On the off chance that the appropriate response is truly, at that point it is most likely not an astute thought for them to take an online course. Showing English online is an extraordinary device for instructors and understudies who have great abilities at PCs and web. For instance for our situation on the off chance that we don't have a decent order on this , we can't burn through our understudies' time attempting to comprehend or figure out how to utilize certain instruments. That is the reason we ought to be set up for the new modalities in instructing, we need to get refreshed so as to go at a similar speed of our understudies'. The showing on the web requests from educators and understudies to have a decent PC hardware, just as great earphones, receivers, and so on for a decent improvement of the class. At last, the sky is the limit in training it is simply a question of a dece nt readiness to separate the hindrances of this century.

Writing For College Students - Easy Ways to Make Your Writing Easy on the Eyes
Writing For College Students - Easy Ways to Make Your Writing Easy on the EyesWriting for college students can be a challenge, but it does not have to be. There are simple ways to make your writing easier on the eyes and to make yourself less of a 'battered graduate.'One thing that many college students do not realize is that what they read in print is not necessarily what they see in print. You see this with your students as well, but to a greater degree. In this way, you can help them grasp the information that you want them to read. Here are some of the things that you can do to make the experience more enjoyable for your students:- First, do not rush your reading material. Students are used to being told where to go and how to act. By stating it, you are bypassing the route to helping them. Also, being brief is always better than being long.- Second, use 'example' language. If you start with an example, it will make the material easier to comprehend. The reader may not have the c ontext to understand what you are talking about, and they may skip over what you want them to learn. This also saves time.- Third, don't forget that it is not just writing. Speaking can also be an important part of your courses. Therefore, if you need to be difficult, avoid it. Make sure that you convey your point clearly and with confidence.- Fourth, do not forget that what you are talking about needs to be backed up by knowledge. One way to do this is to put research into it. Keep learning about the topic by taking exams or doing research about the subject matter.- Fifth, make sure that you understand your students. They do not mean that you need to apologize for your ignorance, but you need to be able to make sense of their statements. While your students are learning about something, you need to have a clear idea about the topic.

The German Government Sued Over NSA Spying Essay - 715 Words
The largest Association of hackers in Europe has lodged a criminal proceeding against the government of German for helping a foreign intelligence body, the US NSA and the British GCHQ. The allegations are that the government allowed or colluded with the two spying bodies, and in so doing went against the citizensââ¬â¢ rights of privacy. This criminal case is primarily based on the revelations of Edward Snowden in his leaks. The ILMR (International League of Human Rights) in conjunction with the CCC (Chaos Computer Lab) filed the suit on Monday against the government at the general Prosecutors Office. Even after facing such challenges, both the ILHR and the CCC have continued to push for the release of more information to the public about the unlawful dealings between the German government with the NSA and GCHQ. According to them, accountability of the government should be paramount. As this commotion is going on, the Office of the Prosecutor is still in the process of determining if the allegations are propounded enough to warrant the opening of a criminal investigations and prosecution. The spokesman to the German Chancellor, Steffen Seibert refused to give a clear comment on the issue when asked about the matter. The only statement he issued to the public is that all people in German are in a position to go to court and sue. According to Julius Mittenzwei a CCC activist, there are very strong lawful grounds that must ensure that the spying of German citizens is put to a stop completely. The laws provide that all investigations which are to be done should be written in law. According to the activists, the spying has not been proved to help curb terrorism; hence it is a way of gaining power and control. A Dolls House Nora Essay - 1401 Words
In Henrik Ibsenââ¬â¢s play A Dollââ¬â¢s House, the personality of the protagonist Nora Helmer is developed and revealed through her interactions and conversations with the other characters in the play, including Mrs. Linde, Nils Krogstad, Dr. Rank and Ann-Marie. Ibsen also uses certain dramatic and literary techniques and styles, such as irony, juxtaposition and parallelism to further reveal interesting aspects of Noraââ¬â¢s personality. Mrs. Linde provides and interesting juxtaposition to Nora, while Krogstad initially provides the plot elements required for Noraââ¬â¢s character to fully expand in the play. Dr. Rankââ¬â¢s love for Nora provides irony and an interesting twist in their relationship, while Ann-Marie acts in a parallel role to Nora in that theyâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This attitude is best expressed when he says, quot;I had to grab hold somewhere; and I dare say that I havenââ¬â¢t been among the worst.quot; This light juxtaposition which affects Nora and Krogstadââ¬â¢s relationship, combined with Noraââ¬â¢s secretive borrowing and money-saving practices creates a lasting impression of her desire that no one, including Helmer, discover her debt to the bank. This clashes directly with the initial portrait of a childlike, carefree and oblivious woman that Nora quot;wasquot; at the beginning of the play. Noraââ¬â¢s personality slowly changes from a two-dimensional figure to a fully developed and captivating woman who can independently take care of herself and her family without the guiding hand of a man at her side. This is illustrated by her handling of the debt crisis up to the point that her husband finds out. The prevailing belief in nineteenth century society was that women could not handle affairs suited only for men, such as the management of finances or similar tasks and occupations. Ibsenââ¬â¢s Nora progresses from an innocent, apparently oblivious bystander to the her worldââ¬â¢s events to a character w ho has the courage, determination, and intellect to undertake those tasks that Victorian society prohibited for women. Krogstadââ¬â¢s demeanor and attitude toward Nora also reveals certain important aspects of their relationship, and thus her personality. Obasan Essay Paper Example For Students
Obasan Essay Paper I decided to read the novel by Joy Kogawa entitled Obasan. The novel was written in 1981 and told the details of how the Japanese were discriminated against during World War 2. The authors main purpose was to educated the reader on how hard life really was for her family and other Japanese Canadians living in British Columbia, and especially in Vancouver. Joy Kogawa tried to show how ignorant British Columbians really were, and that we still do not fully understand what really happened during the war. She also tries to teach Canadians the culture of the Japanese. The novel starts in the seventies with Naomi a teacher in Northern Alberta finding out that her uncle has died. When Naomi returns home to console her Aunt Obasan, she begins to relive the difficulties of her life. She recounts the struggle against the government and themselves while trying to stay in Vancouver. Naomi is very small at the time of the war and did not really fully understand what was happening to her race. The novel recounts the struggle of Naomis Aunt Emily to ensure that her family would be together in whatever place they were sent to. Aunt Emily wanted to head east to Toronto, but was unable to get the documentation for the entire family which included her sister children, who she was taking care of. The novel discuses the camps that the Japanese families were sent to in Hastings Park during the war. It described the treatment the families received while there, including the lack of food and the smell of manure. Naomi during this time was being sexually molested by her next door neighbor and did not tell anybody about this. Naomi seems resentful during the novel, as she comes across as a quiet little girl, who does not seem to interact with many people. Aunt Emily finally finds a place in Slocan for the family to go live, but just before they leave finds out her and her immediate family could go to Toronto. This leaves Aunt Emily going to Toronto and everybody else moving to Toronto. In the end almost everybody ends up dying. The novel had many strengths and weaknesses. One strength that really got to me is the great detail in how the Japanese were treated, though they were Canadian citizens. Obasan also taught me a lot about the Japanese culture and background. I enjoyed learning that it was custom to take a bath with your family when you were younger. I also learned that the government took away the vehicles of the Japanese and auctioned them off, which really shocked me. Joy Kogawa also brought in a good insight about what the Japanese Canadians were really feeling and going through during these tough times. On the flip side there were also many weaknesses in the book Obasan. One major weakness was the failure to distinguish between present time and the past. There were to many times that I did not realize that Naomi had switched into a flashback or vice versa. This left me rereading many pages over. I also did not like the way that the novel would drag on. It sometimes failed to have much to do with the rest of the story, and is to wordy. I believe the story could have been told in about one hundred and eighty pages instead of the two hundred and fifty pages. I think that the novel could have also gone into a little more detail about the living conditions at Hastings Park, and also a political aspect of why this was happening to these people. .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .postImageUrl , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:hover , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:visited , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:active { border:0!important; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:active , .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965 .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uf88655c6ba3c2593e238fbdab2b37965:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Divorce in Todays Society EssayAll and all I would have to say this novel helped me a lot in understanding what happened during the Second World War. Before reading this novel, I would have to admit that I really did not even know this happened in Canada, which is really sad. I did know though that the Japanese in the United States were sent from the west coast, but did not realize that it reached the west coast of Canada. Obasan is a very good novel for anybody who did not know what happened during the Second World War. I would recommend this novel to all Canadians, but especially to British Columbians. Obasan was on the most part well written and gives an excellent accou nt of the Japanese reviews. Obasan was a good novel to help better understand our Canadian history.

Military Equipments and the Technology of China in Early Modern World
Introduction Various developments have been seen in the chronological evolution of man. The increasing brain capacity during the past developments of man led to more ability of man to make tools that could be used for various services. It is important to realize, from the prehistoric times, that while other animals concentrated in ways of surviving in the natural world endowed with different resources, man has been in a constant struggle to shape the natural resources to suit his interest.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Military Equipments and the Technology of China in Early Modern World specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The need to develop defensive mechanisms by man can be traced back to the prehistoric times. Homo erectus or the ââ¬Å"upright manâ⬠made cleavers and hand axes that were used for hunting of prey and protection against predators (Bentley Ziegler, 3). This man also invented fire a nd realized that it could also be used to scare away other animals. With these developments, man could exercise more control over the worldââ¬â¢s natural resources. He pioneered different parts leading to the distribution of this species to different parts in the world. The need to develop protective mechanisms continued with the manââ¬â¢s evolution into the modern man. There emerged organized groups for purposes like communal hunting and gathering of fruits. With the development of languages of communication, a need to have groups of individuals organized into some collective system with some leader, and the various other societal factors that were seen to be influencing human behavior, there has been an increasing need by these units to have protection from external attack from other neighboring/ rival units. The differences that were witnessed in the way of life of the early man and that of modern man are also evident in the types of weapons that they developed. The early m an in the Stone Age period developed tools from stone carvings. Then followed the wooden age with tools developed from woodcarvings. This developed into use of metals, in the Iron Age in 1700-1500 B.C (East west dialogue, para.24) for making tools like knives, spears, bows, and arrows with latter developments that are witnessed currently. With increased civilization, tools that are more modern were developed by man in various parts of the world. The civilization was, however, not even. Some parts of the world developed faster than the others did in terms of technology. Thesis Statement The increasing intelligence of man led to his invention of better ways of survival. This led to development of weapons for human protection that led to the increasing desire by different nations to conquer and rule the whole world, resulting into wars that have been witnessed among nations since the medieval times. As a result, early civilization in a nation often results in conflicts between the memb ers of the nation that can lead to decrease in development rates.Advertising Looking for research paper on asian? However, it is approximated to be between fifth century A.D and fifteenth century A.D (Lombardi, para.2). During this period, there were various political developments recorded in China. The early periods saw the reunification of China to form a United China. The end of this period saw China being conquered by the Mongol Empire. The Tang dynasty is one kind of leadership that was seen in China between the seventh and the tenth centuries (Eras of elegance, para.3). The united China had vast territories endowed with many resources making its capital city the richest city in the world at the time. During their reign, the Tang promoted trade between united China and other countries and promoted social growth in terms of educational programs. Improvements were also seen in the infrastructure like roads within the country. They could then access the neighboring countries and tried to conquer Korea in the seventh century but failed. They continued to be influential in the neighborhood and Korea later adopted their model of leadership (Eras of elegance, para.3). Tang dynasty disintegrated and ended in the middle of the tenth century and was succeeded by the Song. The political movement that would later yield the Yuan dynasty can be linked to Genghis Khan who initiated moves to conquer Asia in 1190. Twenty years later, he led the Mongols and invaded China. The Mongols continued with their operations and captured Moscow thirty years later. Kublai Khan then established his reign that would see the foundation of the Yuan dynasty in China. This dynasty lasted for over a century in China and it was later overthrown in 1368 (Eras of elega nce, para.3). The Mongols tried to invade more countries and failed in certain instances. The Mongol Empire at this time consisted of several nations Asia like China, Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Afghanistan, and many others (Eras of elegance, para.3).. China after medieval period The Ming Dynasty followed the Yuan dynasty and took back the Chinese rule under the powers of the locals of the country. It was a period following the collapse of the Yuan dynasty in 1368 and ended around 1644. It is generally known as ââ¬Ëperiod of stable, effective government during which some important new institutions developedââ¬â¢ (Twitchett, 9). Various developments were seen during this period some of which had been initiated by the early dynasties. The period saw the maturation of the political development that were initiated during the Tang dynasty and promoted by the Yuan dynasty of the Mongol empire. The civil service became poor powerful in exercising control over the whole society and there was very little opposition from the ruled concerning the extent to which the autocratic rulers could exercise their control.Advertising We will write a custom research paper sample on Military Equipments and the Technology of China in Early Modern World specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This would lead to the full authority of the rulers to have ability to exercise control on whatever they wished to towards the end of the dynasty. The rulers were assisted by scholars who followed the Confucian doctrines. They managed to expand their territory to incorporate other neighboring regions that were not ruled by the past dynasties (Twitchett, 10). The number of the provinces that formed the Ming Empire also increased from the previous three to around thirteen towards the end of the dynasty (Twitchett, 13). The management of boundaries between these administrative units and the neighboring units required a well-established defense system that was the reinstated by the Ming rulers. The Ming dynasty lasted for 277 years and had sixteen rulers from the same lineage (Twitchett, 16). The Qing dynasty took over from the Ming dynasty and ruled between 1644 and 1911. It was founded by the Manchus people of the northeast. Under their rule, Qing Empire acquired more territories and exercised their authority over a wider region than the other dynasties. The rulers followed the Confucian doctrines in their leadership and exercised their authority regarding the Chinese culture (Hearn, para.2). The doctrines promoted good leadership skills and required that one act in a manner that he would like to be adopted by any other person ensured good governance in China during this period. It was observed that ââ¬Ëthe court became a leading patron in the arts as China enjoyed an extended period of political instabilityââ¬â¢ (Hearn, para.2). Two other groups of artists were also active in China namely the traditionalists and individu alists. However, this good leadership lasted for a while and was threatened latter by the ideological differences from within and outside the territory. The empire segregated and was seen as a failure towards meeting the development objectives. As a result, the development pace that had been set in China reduced drastically towards the end of the eighteenth century and was very low until about few decades ago when mechanisms were developed to rejuvenate the nation (Wang, 178). Early civilization in China It is important to note that China developed technologies thousands of years before the technologies were adopted by the other parts of the world like Europe. There are evidences of the ancient cities that were developed by early men in some parts of China (Bentley Ziegler, 13). Generally, civilization began in China thousands of years before the same was seen in the western countries. The developments were attributed to the teachings of Confucius (551-476 B.C) who asserted that u nlike wild animals, man could be ruled by principles of reason (East west dialogue, para.7).Advertising Looking for research paper on asian? The extraction and use of iron metal in China began far much earlier than they did in the European countries (East west dialogue, para.29). This led to the earlier development of more superior tools in China than in other country in the world. Farming and other economic activities could be carried out effectively. The trend continued in China until few centuries ago. In fact, during the 1700s, China could be regarded as the largest and one of the richest countries in the world. It could also boast of being the country with the best system of government at the time. However, some factors from within and outside the Qing Empire that prevailed in China lead to dissolution of such a powerful governance system in the early 1800s. The long serving Qing Empire decayed and failed in its desires to establish a more civiliz ed state. Conclusion and restatement of thesis It is thus worth pointing out the consequences of the early civilization that was seen in China. The adoption of modern technology in agriculture was seen in China several years before similar technologies were developed and adopted in other countries. This led to the growth in population of the country and allowing for other techniques like development of weapons. This was followed by a series of governments some from non-Chinese rulers. There were increased desires by the emperors to conquer and rule many neighboring China. The system of government that was adopted in China for a long period seemed perfect but the ideological differences due to the many people in a cosmopolitan country led to disintegration of the government due to conflicts of interest. The country, which had been in the forefront in urbanization, once again experienced a reverse migration with the individuals moving back to the rural areas. Further research in techn ology was threatened and the individuals adopted farming techniques that required even more labor like the introduction of a plow pulled by man. Techniques were then being used that were inferior to those that were used thousands of years earlier. This trend continued and other nations from the European and American continent borrowed the technology from the Chinese applied the techniques to improve their socio-economic and political developments. Countries like the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, and the dissolved USSR are now termed as the worlds industrial powers while China who was the founder of much technology is still regarded as a developing nation. Thus, early civilization in country may be a threat to the national development. Works Cited Bentley, Jerry H and Ziegler, Herbert F. The Lovers by Marguerite Duras
The Lovers by Marguerite Duras In this paper we are going to analyze, to try to look deeper or even may be to feel the main ideas, concerns, themes of the famous novel of Marguerite Duras The Love. In order to do this, we have to stop a little on the personality of the author, this is really important for understanding the style and main ideas of the novel. She was born in Saigon French Indochina. Later on she decided to take up law in the native county of her parents ââ¬â France, but instead developed her talent as a writer. She wrote a number of novels, plays, short stories, was the director of several films, but her best selling book was The Lover ( Lââ¬â¢Armant in French). This novel was translated into 43 languages and in the year 1984 it received the Prix Goncourt reward. There was also a movie shot after this novel, the director of which was Jean-Jasques Annaud. Some time later, Duras also published another book, which was a little bit different from the first one under the name ââ¬â LArmant de l a Chine du Nord. Mostly her works were of an unusual style and full of romanticism. She was considered to belong also to Nouveau roman literally movement in France. The Lover is without double an autobiographical novel and there are some facts confirming this. For example the real lover of the author was also Chinese and his name was Lee. The last information that she received about him was that he became born Christian and that he really loved his family. He died at the same city where they met for the first time. The main heroine of the novel is 15, the same was the age of Duras when she had this love affair. The book is written in an unusual manner, not presenting the chronological sequences of the events and thoughts, this is more a collection of memories, feelings and dreams. The novel mixes up the present events with the past events. The short book of around 100 pages looks like an experiment, due to its style of recollecting ideas and images. At the very beginning the reader is not able to catch the thread of narration, however, really quickly he is amazed by novel. The author perfectly shows how human mind can rapidly recollect the events of the past and mix them with the present surrounding world. The memories seem to be so deep and so emotional that a person would never be able either to forget them or to get rid of them. The novel is absolutely far from simple romantic stories with happy ends, somehow it seems even to break the limits of the permitted relations for such a young girl, but this never makes it perfunctory or obscene. The story is told from the third person and then suddenly from the main heroin herself. This also contributes probably to the feeling that there are two worlds: the usual one, most people used to believe in living in and the other subtle and hidden world of persons desires and feelings. Happiness is hardly separated from violence, love and hated are mixed up, thus neither the themes nor the message of the novel are simple and transparent. The story is told in the way that sometimes there is a feeling that you are listening to a person who is talking in the state of hypnosis. Certainly the main portion of attention is drawn from the very beginning till the end of the story to the young girl, who is always sad, sad because of the situation in her family, because of lack of tender and real love from her mothers side, because of her responsibility for the youngest brother, later because of her involvement into the life of a grown up woman. She belongs to a French family, but living in Indochina, the status of the family is rather poor and low due to the death of the father. From one side this is still a very young a little naive girl, she is not able to have an affair based on pure sexual relations without falling in love. On the other hand, in many senses, this is a mature personality, psychologically older than her physical age. But it is not possible to state whether she is so wise or just gets into such situation only due to her curiosity. At the school, which she attends, other girls and she herself are not much interested in taking care of lepers, the cholera stricken. From the very beginning we have to pay attention to the appearance of the girl, because it is the same dual as her inner world: she has plaits and funny manââ¬â¢s hat, but on the other hand, her transparent dress and shoes make her look like a young prostitute. Thus there is also a contrast, because she is not stunningly beautiful and at the same time, when somebody looks at her he can not just pass by without noticing her ugly beauty. And exactly dressed like this she is noticed by a wealthy Chinese guy, who in a way is a contrast to her, to her clothes, appearance, manners, status. Actually, he could probably find another girl or woman who would be right for him, but he could not stand the temptation to have this one. And he starts conversation with her, though in reality the conversation seems not appropriate, she is far from his business and his compliments she accepts with childish easiness. When the girl agrees to be taken to Saigon by him, it is again not quite clear, weather she just wants to check her charms and ability to attract mens attention, or she is in really interested in this man. Maybe she is just sick and tired of her family situation, of lack of interest and care towards her and is looking to get it from a stranger. Concerning the young man and his motives for the relations with a girl, it is also hard to judge only from one side, he was probably fascinated by her image, by her youth, by her feelings, however there was no intention from his side to marry her, although he was desperately wishing to see her and to be with her. As their relations continue to develop, the girl falls in love, most likely she didnââ¬â¢t expect it and she didnââ¬â¢t want it, as she wanted first of all to be loved, but in reality she gives her body and a part of her soul to a man, who became her lover. In the event that happened after the restaurant, we again come across the duality common for the novel. On the one hand the lover hits and rapes the girl, she feels pain, humiliation, but on the other hand there is some kind of cathartic pleasure for her. Before the situation seemed to be under her control, now the man got what he wanted without her permission. But when she makes him pay the same sum of money that he would have to pay to the prostitute if he had sex with her, and he paid, in a way she manages to take her power back. The man is obsessed by the girl, not however wanting to marry her. Once the girl says that the real reason for her to be with him was money, the reader feels that it is not in this way, she probably doesnt love him deeply, but she is without doubt also attracted to him and nothing is so simple as just money. She maybe chose him for more important mission than being her man or her husband, she chose him as a person who would help her and push her to be reb orn from her old life into new one. At the end of the story it is absolutely clear that there will be no usual happy end, and that they wonââ¬â¢t be together and would have to part sooner or later, but they still have love for each other, which is probably far from that classical feeling described by poets and shown in melodramas, but if they are strong enough to part, that doesnt mean that their love was not deep enough and that many year later the lover will not appear in the life of a writer, saying that he still loves her. At least Duras wrote the book later, when she was a quite famous writer. Overall, The Lovers is a deeply emotional, sensitive and subtle story about a man and a girl, about their love and the power of this love, about the psychological fight and about erotic desires. In a way it can be also called a feminist novel, because it mainly underlines the strength of a very young girl, woman, who has little or even no idea about relations between men and women and still she is able to attract and somehow even to control a man who is much older than she.

Capitalism and Our Society
Capitalism and Our Society Essay From the very dawn of intelligent human interaction to the present day,the concept of capitalism has dominated the way we trade goods andacquire wealth. Except for the necessity of a simple communist society inpre-modern times, or the noble humanistic notion of a socialist society, the free market has always been the most efficient way to run the economyonce the most basic needs of life have been satisfied. Only during thelast several hundred years has the idea of a modern democracy beendeveloped and applied through the modern state. These two concepts arethought by some to be interrelated, but contemporary critics of theliberal form of democracy seek to separate the two notions of capitalismand democracy. However, when examining the evidence of the relation ofthe two, let us not use the altered conceptions or versions of theseterms, but rather analyse them by their base meanings as we have come tounderstand them. After this analysis of the terms and a resultingstipulation of what the ir base meanings are, critics may say that anyfurther analysis of the relationship between the two terms would betainted by their supposed definitions. The problem with this is thatwithout a common frame of reference between the two, no comparison wouldbe logically possible without considering an infinite range of possiblemeanings. With this technical matter aside, the analysis will continuewith an investigation into arguments both for and against the separationof the two terms, and then an evaluation of the true nature ofcapitalismrsquos relationship with democracy. Specifically the freemarket economy dictating the actions of any democratic regime. After thistask of evaluation is complete, the argument will conclude withillustrating how capitalism will actually lead to a more liberal form ofdemocracy. The first step of this investigation is to make some attempt to achieve acommon frame of reference between the two terms. Literally, democracy isthe rule of the people. Specifically, it is the organization in place toallow people of a specified area, through organized elections, to givetheir uncoerced opinion on who they want to represent them in government,or what they want government to do for them. The underlyingpresupposition is that government will always obey the command of themajority of voters. There are many limitations to democracy, such as thefact that people can only vote YEA or NEA on a specific topic area, thusproducing a dichotomy of choices that may not necessarily offer asolution to a problem. Also, people must leave most decisions to thepeople they elect, since they donrsquot have enough time to continuallyvote. However, the focus of this work is not to delve into this area ofcontroversy, but rather to take this understanding of democracy as thestipulated definition for this work. One critical distinction must bemade regarding Bergerrsquos understanding of the term, and that is thatthe term democracy does not include all the civil and human ri ghtsassociated with liberal democracy. Similarly, by capitalism, this work will not use any other connotation ofthe term other than describing the free market economy, where there isprivate ownership of property, and the economic freedom to buy, sell, ortrade with whomsoever you chose. The critical element of the term is thatthere is limited government in place to enforce contracts and to providea safe trading environment. Another specific meaning given to capitalismis by Friedman, who describes capitalism as economic cooperation, whereboth parties are benefiting from the trade, provided that the trade isvoluntary and informed on both sides. READ: Freedom and Opression in Literature EssayThe next step in the investigation is to analyse some of the argumentsthat capitalism is separate from democracy. Dryzek argued that anindividualrsquos consumer preferences wereproperly expressed in the economy, while the same persons politicalpreferences were expressed in politics3. This perspective indicates thatthe capitalist economy is a separate entity form the democratic politicalsystem, because these are two different institutions into which anindividual can state his or her preferences, depending on whether theyare economically or politically motivated. On the other hand, history hasgiven many examples of how a personrsquos economic preferences have beenstated in the political forum, such as voting for a politician that haspromised to reduce taxes or to establish free trade between two states. That same person could only express those preferences in the politicalforum, because they alone would have no power to change the structure ofthe economy such that it would seem advantageous to lower taxes

Strategic Analysis and Choice - Essay Example The analysis includes political, economic, social and technological factors. Political factors affect the marketing and strategic growth plans of a business. Legislations and regulations of a country affect the plans of the business. This can be control of ingredients used, price changes and different views of the party in power compared to the former one. For e.g. in Pakistan, after the emergency was imposed on 3rd November 2007 the media was curbed and shut down until they signed a deal not to talk against the present government. Thus, GEO Pakistan a channel that is aired in Pakistan, Dubai, UK, USA and Canada. This organization is a multinational since it is aired in three continents around the world. The company uses all the latest technology in media like news room automation service, graphics system, automated play out system, media server systems, GEO firsts (interactive program) and training on international standards; and it is a market leader at home in Pakistan. It is huge since it employs the most people in Pakistan. The company is young. The company is family owned. The channel refused to abide by the regulations and has not been aired in Pakistan up till now. The channel was a leader in the market but now they have suffered huge losses due to the close down of the channel. Eventually, they had to abide by the regulations to avoid further losses and downsizing of employees. Now the channel will be aired soon. GEO is a good example of a company that tried to go against the industry norms and comply with the rules in order to differentiate but it all went wrong and they suffered. This was a risk and they had to pay for non compliance of industry norms. This example is a fitting example in this case because their strategic... This essay is a strategic analysis of how the companies respond to changes in their internal and external environments. Also that companies often plan to use such strategies to gain a competitive advantage over their various competitors since an edge over the others always helps them stand at the highest peak and successfully manage to balance and avoid falling disastrously. Often companies plan and forecast but the actual result is different from the forecasted one. Theories are often good to study and get a proper understanding of the situation but they do not necessarily fit in real life. Uncertainty is part of life and a proper analysis to take a decision is important for companies. Thus, businesses aim to grow and gain competitive advantages since expansion is an industry norm but then they have to face problems while operating in the internal and external environments and these businesses tend to use these strategies to their best advantage and even by manipulating these at tim es to fit their conditions and markets. This helps them grow and gain an edge over their competitors. Competitive advantages are essential to businesses for continuous growth in the existing and new markets in order to expand and turn into giants. Managers need to have a clear vision of the future of the company.

Discrimination and Racism in Country Lovers and The Welcome Table Essay
Discrimination and Racism in ââ¬Å"Country Loversâ⬠by Nadine Gordimer and ââ¬Å"The Welcome Tableâ⬠by Alice Walker Discrimination and racism is always an issue, but the hardship these women had to face and suffer is something that is still being discussed. Understanding the fear, struggle and hardship that women of color went through during this time period is very important. Both ââ¬Å"Country Loversâ⬠by Nadine Gordimer and ââ¬Å"The Welcome Tableâ⬠by Alice Walker discuss race and the struggle with trying to be accepted in society. The short story ââ¬Å"Country Loversâ⬠written by Nadine Gordimer, who in 1991 received the Nobel Prize for Literature, writes about forbidden love and racial politics between a black girl and a white boy on a South Africa farm. This story takes place during the time South Africa was dealing with racial segregation and is filled with irony and a theme that is clear from the start and that is deeper than racism, but the love between the two of opposite race. Differences in the Myths of the Toad, the Snake, and the Medicine
The Limba people of Africa live in different villages, and each village puts its own spin on the myths that are passed down from generation to generation. One of these myths focuses on the god Kanu making medicine to immortalize the Limba, and the destruction of that medicine by the toad. There are three versions of the myth of the destruction of the medicine, but they vary in several ways. The first myth, ââ¬Å"The Toad Did Not Love Us,â⬠suggests that the toad dropped the medicine Kanu gave him on purpose.Although most Biblical tales paint the snake as a dangerous creature, in this myth the snake loved the people. This myth implies that Kanu finds it strange that the people kill the snake, but not the toad, considering that the snake loved them. This myth is also different because it mentions the ââ¬Å"white people,â⬠so the reader can be fairly sure that this myth was either thought up after European colonization, or it was modified to add them. The second myth, ââ¬Å "The Toad and the Snake,â⬠tells that Kanu wanted to save both animals and people.Again, the toad insisted on carrying the human portion, and again he spilled it, but not out of ill will. The snake carried his portion, and arrived with it safely. While this myth is still about why the people die, it also points out that snakes live forever because of their medicine. Perhaps this idea came from seeing molted snake skins. The skin might come off, but the snake lived forever. The last myth, ââ¬Å"The Toad and Death,â⬠is a short version of the same myth, but it only concentrates on how the snake and toad feel about each other. They are enemies because they perpetually argue about who should have carried the medicine. This is not because one loved the people more than the other. It is simply a rivalry that goes on for eternity. This myth serves more as an explanation of why snakes and toads do not get along rather than why people die. These three short myths show how stories c hange as they are passed around and told by different people with different influences. It is intriguing to see how one tribe could have such varied views on the same tale.

Opiate Drugs And Opiate Addiction - 1205 Words
Since their development, Opiate painkillers have proved invaluable in the healthcare industry. The need for analgesia has been prevalent since the beginning of time itself and opium has been used as early as Ancient China and fought over in wars such as the Opium Wars. More modernly, this substance has been synthesized for potency and purity in achieving the ultimate pain reliever. It exists in drugs today such as OxyContin, Norco, Percocet, morphine, Dilaudid, Opana, and Demerol. In addition to relieving pain, these medications also produce euphoria and bind to opiate receptors in the brain which contribute to the development of forming an addiction. Opiate Addiction only grows as an issue in the United States due to its availability and lack of knowledge regarding addiction on behalf of patients receiving pain medication. This is why finding an effective cure or treatment to opiate addiction is imperative. Individual treatments for opiate addiction such as replacement therapy, reha bilitation, and support groups are flawed by themselves, however, in combination provide the most effective treatment for opiate addiction. Replacement therapy can generally be defined as substituting one substance for another and in this case, one opiate for another. A double blind study conducted by P.J. Essay on Security Issues of Ambient Networks - 2196 Words
In this essay we will present security issues of a networking concept referred to as ambient networks, which aims to enable the cooperation of heterogeneous networks belonging to different operator or technology domains. In this way, it appears as homogeneous to the users of the network services. Providing security in ambient networks is a huge challenge. The main reason is that the traditional security model is not valid anymore. Traditional security assumes that there is a vulnerable channel between communicating parties, where eavesdropping, modification of messages or denial of service attacks can occur. But it also assumes that the sender and receiver operate in some form of secure environment. Hence all models of attacks focus onâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Besides it should be almost invisible and moreover it should be nowhere unless we need it. Figure 1 shows an overview of the Ambient Information Network. The flow of information through this network is controlled by proprietary server software built using best-of-breed network software technologies and is currently deployed on a server farm in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ambient has partnerships with many content providers who generate high-volume content feeds describing a wide variety of types of information, including weather observations, weather predictions, auto traffic patterns, stock market performance, electricity market performance, astronomical data, personal bank account data, ski resort reports, and many others. Our central server records millions of individual pieces of content each day and greatly compresses and aggregates it so that it can be efficiently and economically transmitted over the long-range Flexâ⠢ paging network. The Driving Age Should Be Raised to 18 Free Essays
The Driving age should be raised to 18 Since people have changed, some driving laws ought to change as well. The Department of Motor Vehicles must Observe and Acclimate unto the Motor Vehicleââ¬â¢s Operators with Revisions. While observing, DMV will find that many drivers treat their vehicles like mini living rooms and have mocked the customs and values of driving and they ought not to tempt children to do the same. We will write a custom essay sample on The Driving Age Should Be Raised to 18 or any similar topic only for you Order Now Many drivers observe people driving while eating, text messaging and watching videos. ââ¬Å"10 percent of drivers aged 14 to 24 years old are on their phone at any time. (NHTSA, Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) To adapt unto this grave temptation of drivers is to mandate the legal age to 18 years old. I have been driving for 33 years and I was 16 years old when I was given a legal permit to drive a motor vehicle. Nevertheless, in 1979 the phones were in the living rooms, kitchen walls and the bedrooms of our houses. We as ââ¬Å"Baby Boomersâ⬠did extremely well, while driving with the customs and values of being ââ¬Å"An Motor Operator. â⬠There werenââ¬â¢t many distractions of our own. It was a practice of being attentive with other motorists which made it immeasurably easier to drive safer. It was also and always a predictable effect as well when we smiled at the other motorists. We had conceived a good sense of motivation and inspiration, not road rage. I can recall the time when I was driving and had an a pair of encounters with the parents of two of my friends while crossing each other at an intersection upon separate occasions when in both instances, the parents conceived inspiration from my attentiveness, smile and a kindly wave. Months later, I was a passenger in both of my friendââ¬â¢s new car. With this calling to mind, underage drivers were adequately allowed to drive, because people were adequate drivers. People were not treating their cars like mini living rooms. DMV should take the stand upon this issue, because many parents feel proud and dedicated to allowing their children to drive. Many will allow them because they themselves starting driving at the tender age of 16. Consequently, with todayââ¬â¢s unprincipled driving practices of unsafe drivers, DMV should adhere unto the fact that ââ¬Å"The number one source of driver inattention is use of a wireless device. â⬠(Virginia Tech/NHTSA) Just a week ago, I took interest to observe closely my associated-by-default-drivers coming home from work in the rush hours of the day and noticed 6 out of 10 motorists were unsafely driving while eating, texting or video watching. Who would want their child to drive like them or drive besides them? Only proud parents I presume. Another case in point, is that under-aged drivers do drive with heavy duty vehicles, such as Tractor-trailers weighing over 80,000 + pounds and from my encounters from 2007 through 2008, when I was driving a heavy loaded cab-over tractor double trailer tomato truck. I was generally in the right lane most of the time and had numerous encounters with young drivers entering the on-ramp driving like Mickey and Minnie Mouse scurrying casually upon the ramp. On one occasion, a young teen was text messaging or perhaps dialing a number. Another occasion, I remember a car load of teens were excitingly viewing a video of interest. And another occasion, Iââ¬â¢d encountered a young boy reclining in his car seat like he was in a concert listening unto his stereo. On all occasions, I had to rapidly down shift gears and with gear in neutral, I revved up the accelerator in order to create a loud sound effect to get their attention. Every time, they either dropped their cell phone, stopped watching their video or sat up straight from their reclining seat and accelerated like they shouldââ¬â¢ve done with a 55 mph heavy truck. Each of those times, I exhaled a great sign of relief. Not because of my wrong doing, I was rightfully in my lane, but because I will have to take out my fire extinguisher and assist with their calamity. A childââ¬â¢s at that. My heart is heavy with concern from this recollection. Some driving laws ought to change. A lot of drivers have changed dramatically over the years. There are drastically too many unethical driving practices for the young and innocent to be exposed to. Therefore, the driving age should be raised to 18. Children ought to be exposed unto the wonders and the beauty of the world, not to be imperiled by the vulnerabilities of them, by driving in this age and time. I shall not speak a thousand words to convey that a lot of drivers have changed for the worst and a revised law will surely help change the minds of proud and dedicated parents by raising the age limit to 18 years of age to operate a motor vehicle. How to cite The Driving Age Should Be Raised to 18, Papers

Authenticity in John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrath Essays
Authenticity in John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrath Essays Authenticity in John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrath Paper Authenticity in John Steinbecks The Grapes of Wrath Paper Essay Topic: The Grapes Of Wrath The Grapes of Wrath is a novel written by John Steinbeck. In the bulk of modern literature, it is consider a masterful epic unmatched in the realm of the written word. The novel centers around a family of workers who are immigrants The Joads. When the novel takes place they are in California attempting to survive the scarce conditions of the depression. Steinbeck monitors and recounts the ups and downs of the family and their experiences in United States. Much of the plot is Steinbecks commentary on the rampant capitalism which literary sucked the land and the people dry during the 1930s. The story is based on real life excerpts of John Steinbecks field research. The real life conflict was created by greedy business men, and lending institutions which bought up land and employed workers to farm. The majority of these workers were lower class immigrant families that were paid so little that their struggles have often been paralleled to that of slavery which plagued the United States in the 16th and 17th centuries. The old adage was particularly relevant when examining this novel, as the rich get richer, the poor end up dead worked to death. Steinbeck is not casual in his assault of capitalism and it not fearful to express his disgust for the supposed American dream. He has a clear political viewpoint and asserts: the great fact: when property accumulates in too few hands it is taken away. And that companion fact: when a majority of the people are hungry and cold they will take by force what they need. And the little screaming fact that sounds throughout all history: repression works only to strengthen and knit the repressed. (333). A major theme developed by Steinbeck in The Grapes of Wrath is his believe that the survive of the lower class is based on their dedication to family. His approach is a delicate mixture of Marxism and Socialism, both of which promote cooperative living. In the context of the time, Steinbecks beliefs were not just controversial but also dangerous. The United States went through a two periods in which the government hunted after individuals they considered unamerican, the 1920s and the 1950s. This novel was written in the the 1930s. However, Steinbeck intricately weaves a tale of family strife, struggle, and survival, in The Grapes of Wrath, which has become a beloved and honored classic since its publication. Steinbecks depiction of the devastating conditions during the 1930s is historically accurate. In particular, Steinbeck articulately describes what a Dust Bowl actually is and how it was created. He explains that the great plains experienced the greatest droughts ever during the great depression. The Dust Bowl was created due to lack of rain and also the over use of the land. Once pieces of land are over farmed they lose their nutrients and crops will not grow. These areas, once plush with grass and trees became ââ¬Å"virtual deserts. â⬠It was this drought which forced families, hungry and tired, to see out new hope in the west. The west promised folks clean and cheap living, and with access to regular work. Steinbeck describes the Dust Bowl in the following way, ââ¬Å"The wind increased, steady, unbroken gusts. The dusts from the roads fluffed up and spread out and fell on the weeds besides the fields . . . the sky was darkened by the mixing dust, and the wind felt over the earth, loosened the dust, and carried it away. â⬠For the people living in these devastated lands, this was a very accurate account as to what the ââ¬Å"weatherâ⬠was like for weeks and months.

Writing a Critical Analysis Essay for Everyone in Need
Writing a Critical Analysis Essay for Everyone in Need Writing a Critical Analysis Essay for Everyone in Need So, is this fuss all about writing a critical analysis essay? Then it is time to revisit your academic essay writing skills. You feel so unhappy that you do not even know where to start. We will give you a clue as to how you can easily cope with your academic assignment without killing yourself. Remember that you will need to follow the style of writing required by your professor and the academic institution. Be mindful of the instructions and requirements provided by your tutor. Critical Analysis Essay Writing Tips If you are lost or confused about writing a good analysis essay, then you may want to watch some YouTube video that teaches the basic writing skills. If you do it, it is quite likely that you will be able to solve your academic problems before it is too late. At the same time, do not forget two important things: To begin with, all these essays require students to do an in-depth analysis of the topic of their choice. Sometimes, you will have freedom to choose a topic; sometimes, your professor will give you one. It is not about telling people what you think. Rather, it is about evaluating the pros and cons of the topic using expert opinions and research evidence. Objectivity is everything when it comes to analysis essay writing. Your task is to inform the reader, no more, no less. Remember that the best critical analysis essays are absolutely objective and unbiased. In fact, the less your rely on your opinion, the more likely you are to produce a compelling argument and persuade the target audience to accept your viewpoint. The more objective you are, the better are your chances to accomplish your writing mission. Never ever use any first-person pronouns in critical essay writing. Forget about any "I's" or "we's" in this type of essay. This, however, is not the only thing that you will need to do to produce a brilliant critical analysis essay. If you follow our blog, you will find plenty of useful information to help you write a critical analysis paper that will boost your academic scores. Do not forget that there are many styles of papers and essays. Critical essay writing is just one of them. Consider the unique requirements provided by your professor, and follow them word for word! Generally, you will have to choose between two critical essay types analytical and argumentative. An argumentative research paper is where you use evidence to arg ue for some definite point or position. You use evidence to persuade your audience to accept your argumentation. An analytical research paper is a different thing because here you will have to explain and explore the topic, using your critical and analytical thinking skills. Objectivity is everything. You will have to gather evidence and present it to the reader, regardless of your personal opinion about it. Unlike an analytical paper, argumentative essay writing will give you power and authority. You will be at the center of all argumentative paper activities. You will accept some position. You will argue that it is the most relevant evidence-based position, as compared with others. However, even though argumentative papers give you voice, you should not sacrifice objectivity and logic. In an analytical research paper, you will not be allowed to share your opinions. You will have to rely on evidence only! Your task is to choose the most persuasive evidence that is relevant to your topic. You will have to be very critical selecting the best sources for your essay. Do not judge them. Just bring together different sides of the argument and share evidence with the reader. For example: You will never be allowed to write in your analytical essay, "Researchers have failed to provide valid evidence of the problem." Rather, you can say, "Thompson believes that other researchers have failed to produce persuasive evidence that the problem exists." Apparently, your readers will have a better perspective on your paper if you reference experts in the field, instead of articulating your opinion. Even if you strongly believe that researchers have failed to produce enough evidence to support the problem statement, it is better to reference an authoritative figure who expressed the same opinion. Do not forget another thing: when you are working on an analysis research paper, you will have to reference the most authoritative and respected figures in the field. This requires time and perseverance. Consider their credentials and achievements, and rely on their research findings to create a perfect analysis research paper. Now you see that argumentative and analytical research pape rs have many similarities. However, they are also different. Do not confuse them. Do not mix them. They are different types of essay writing, and you will need to accept this simple fact. Also, one more thing to consider: Imagine that you wake up at 4AM, and one of your classmates is calling you. You cannot understand what he is talking about, because his speech resembles an empty set of meaningless words. At first, he is asking you what book he could read to spare his sleepless time. Then he suddenly changes the topic and discusses one of his ex-girlfriends. What would you think? You would think that it is a nightmare, and you are dreaming. Or you may want to call the ER because you think that your friend is sick. This story tells how the lack of logic and consistency in academic writing can worsen your academic results. If you fail to follow simple logic when working on your analysis essay, it will be similar to your friend. As such, focus is everything when it comes to essay writing. No matter if you are working on an analytical or an argumentative essay, you will have to follow the basic essay structure: An introduction providing background information about your topic A body comprising several paragraphs, with facts and evidence to support your thesis statement A conclusion that wraps up the argument. Follow this format and outline for any paper that you are writing, in any subject of discipline. Your introduction and conclusion can be the most important parts of your analytical essay. However, do not think that they are the largest parts as well. Make sure that your introduction and conclusion are not too large to take most of your paper. Also, check twice because they should not be identical. You can paraphrase and summarize, but you cannot copy word for word. Imagine that your essay is a sandwich. The most important part is certainly the sausage. This is the body of your paper. Do not misunderstand it! Since the general structure is similar for all essays, you should make it a habit to follow it in all academic situations. You can find plenty of sources online that show how these components of an academic essay work together. Do not miss any of these components! Now that you are nearing the final remarks and want to finish your essay draft professionally, consider valuable tips below and be sure to follow them in writing. No matter what analysis essay topics you are to discuss in your paper, you will have to revise the initial draft over and over again. You are not a writing genius. You will need to check each and every word and sentence in your paper before you are ready to submit it for grading. However, it is always good to brainstorm different topics and make notes as you are working with literature. Then you will revise your draft several times before it is perfect. Ask for a feedback before it is too late. If you have doubts as to whether your analytical essay meets the requirements of your professor, you should ask for a feedback. You can ask anyone to read your paper and analyze its components. You can ask your friend or brother/sister to look into the draft of your work and provide a response. It is always better to have someone look at your paper with an unbiased eye. Do not even try to plagiarize. Everything you take from external resources must be properly cited and referenced in the body of your work. Do not be too wordy. Analytical paper writing is all about being brief and concise. It is not a personal narrative. Nor is it a fiction story. Brevity is the key to everything. Do not make your sentences too long. Do not make it too emotional. Present your thoughts in a consistent and organized format. Your readers should be interested. They should not be bored. Now it is time to translate these recommendations into a brilliant analytical or argumentative essay. Follow the spirit of academic writing and use our tips to produce a perfect essay. If you feel that it is still above your best talents, you can always ask for help from Writer-Elite.com.
